About us
AMIC Cultura is a project created to raise awareness of local culture and the cultural fabric of Barcelona's neighbourhoods and towns near the capital.
News, news reports and interviews on cultural initiatives, artists, community projects and cultural spaces that are often overlooked by the mainstream media are just some of the content available on AMIC Cultura. We also offer a calendar of events including concerts, exhibitions, theatre, workshops and local festivals, with the aim of bringing culture closer to people's everyday lives and decentralising Barcelona's cultural offering to other nearby areas.
This initiative was created thanks to the Premi Canal Impuls Cultura, an ICUB initiative within the framework of the Barcelona Tourism Sustainability Plan, financed by the European Next Generation Funds, and promoted by AMIC (Association of Information and Communication Media).
To sum up, AMIC Cultura is committed to a culture that is rooted in the territory, diverse and accessible, acting as a tool for social cohesion, with a collective identity and community participation.
Promoted by AMIC:
The Association of Information and Communication Media (AMIC) was founded in 1997 as a non-profit organization with the aim of bringing together companies and associations that publish information and communication media.
Over more than twenty-five years, AMIC has evolved and adapted to the sector’s new challenges, consolidating itself as a benchmark. Currently, it represents more than 600 media outlets —including print, digital, and audiovisual publications— that are strongly rooted in the territory. Altogether, these media reach a circulation of 1,200,000 press copies and more than 22,900,000 unique monthly browsers in the digital field.
With the aim of continuing to move forward and adapting to new forms of communication, AMIC has recently incorporated a new category of members: content creators in Catalan, thus expanding its base and strengthening its commitment to the language and the diversity of formats.
