Synopsis:

In India, Smita is a low-caste "untouchable". She dreams of giving her young daughter an education and will do everything in her power to make it happen, even leaving behind everything she knows in search of a better future. In Puglia, Italy, Giulia works in her father's wig workshop, the last of its kind in the region. When her father suffers a serious accident, she discovers that her family's livelihood is at stake. In Canada, Sarah is a divorced mother of three, and a successful lawyer whose identity is based entirely on her work. But just as she awaits the promotion she has been working for her entire career, she is told she has breast cancer.
