Sant Cugat Symphony Orchestra (OSSC). From Romantic Passion to Contemporary Innovation.
The concert begins with Tchaikovsky's brilliant **"Slavonic March"**, composed in 1876 with twists of Russian and Serbian folk music in a gesture of solidarity towards the wounded soldiers.
The symphonic poem "Francesca da Rimini" follows, inspired by Dante's "The Divine Comedy", which transports us to hell with an emotive clarinet solo that gives voice to Francesca.
The proposal continues with **"Música per a orquestra" by Josep Prohens**, a work premiered in 1990, in which the composer explores all the combinations of an initially randomly chosen sound. Finally, **Bartók's "Concerto for Viola"**, his last work, brings us closer to the innovative language of the 20th century with depth and modernityProgram
