The desert grows, Texts by José Sanchís Sinisterra
Initiation Workshop 2
In an attic abandoned many years ago, voices are heard, echoes of other voices, words suspended in the air. At night, where all things worth seeing or looking at happen, sketches of characters or forgotten actresses come out to see life pass, trying to say something honest, but condemned to repeat words written by others, always by others who left a long time ago. Their presence in space is a mirage, like what is seen on the desert sand. Thirsty for life and theater every night - every Tuesday -, they gather and observe how the desert that separates them from life grows. The life worth living was perhaps the one they see next to them, within reach, but they can only explain it, so that the specters who sit in the audience every night stay for a while before disappearing.
