The Ignasi Iglésias Library opened to the public in the autumn of 1935. For 55 years, it occupied the second floor of the District Town Hall and became a point of reference for the entire neighbourhood. In 1990, it moved to the Josep Pallach building and was one of the first libraries to have an audiovisual collection and to computerize its services. In September 2002, it was installed in Can Fabra, the renovated building of the old Coats Fabra thread factory. At this time, the library was renamed the Ignasi Iglésias - Can Fabra Library.
