Barcelona returns to look towards Montjuïc this summer with the recovery of one of its most iconic cultural plans: the Sala Montjuïc. From July 10 to August 5, the open-air cinema series returns to the Fossat de Santa Eulàlia of Montjuïc Castle after an edition at the Tres Xemeneies of Sant Adrià de Besòs due to the works at the Montjuïc site.

The proposal maintains the essence that has made it a summer classic: 16 nights of cinema in original subtitled version, with a combination of great titles from history and more recent films with international trajectory. All this in a privileged setting, with views of the city and under the summer sky. As is tradition, each session will start with live music before the screening.

Featured Programming

The cycle will start on July 10 with Flores para Antonio, within the framework of the Les Nits del Grec program, and includes titles for all tastes. Among the most notable there are classics like Fargo, which celebrates 30 years, or Thelma y Louise, as well as contemporary proposals like Hamnet or La grazia. There will also be special sessions, such as Los Tenenbaums, on its 25th anniversary, and a surprise film to close the cycle on August 5.

Each day will count with a different concert before the film, with artists like Acorde a Ti, Belén Natalí or Maria Pasqual Quartet, among others.

The doors open every day at 8:15 p.m., the music starts at 8:45 p.m. and the film is screened at 10 p.m. It is recommended to arrive early to find a good spot, especially if you want to enjoy the lawn. Tickets are already available online, with prices ranging between 9 and 12 euros depending on the location, whether on the lawn or the deckchair.

With this new edition, Sala Montjuïc reaffirms its role as one of the essential events of the Barcelona summer, combining cinema, music and one of the best panoramic views of the city.
