The Urgell Civic Center once again becomes a meeting point for children's and youth illustration with a new edition of the Festival Il·luLola, which will be held on May 15 and 16, 2026.

It is a biennial event that takes its name from Lola Anglada, a pioneer of illustration and considered the first Catalan illustrator. With this initiative, the CC Urgell wants to reclaim her figure and her artistic legacy from a contemporary and participatory perspective.

The event, which reaches its third edition, proposes this year a dialogue between music and image through a program full of shows, workshops, storytelling, and concerts designed for children and families.

When music transforms into drawing

Under the motto of this edition, sound, rhythm, and emotions transform into drawings, colors, and shapes. For two days, the Urgell Civic Center will be filled with proposals that invite the youngest and young people to experiment with music from illustration and artistic expression.

The program will kick off on Friday, May 15, with the sensory show Sona la llum!, by the company La Curiosa, an experience aimed at early childhood that combines music and images created with light. In the afternoon, the center's inner courtyard will host storytelling and open workshops on color and sound with Rin & Olafur and the Urgell Children's Center. The day will culminate with the inauguration of the exhibition Si fa sol!, by illustrator Iván Bravo, which can be visited until July 22.

The activity will continue on Saturday from early morning with sessions such as Em dic Arpa, by Anna Amigó, or workshops such as Inventem-nos un instrument musical, with Iván Bravo; Partitures sinestèsiques, by Naida Mazzenga and Tomás Olivos, or Dibuix en moviment, with Les Rupestres. There will also be family proposals such as El jardí secret de la Lola, by Peste Alta, which invites children to discover the magical universe of Lola Anglada.

One of the highlights will arrive at noon with El guateque de les formes, a participatory vermouth designed by Clara Sáez that fuses music, movement, and drawing. In the afternoon, the festival will continue with activities such as La volta al món en 80 notes, with Aglaé de Mas and Demian Nuur, or Enganxa el teu ritme!, by Martí Alcón.

A closing with a lot of music

The closing will be in charge of the illustrated concert Love’n’roll hits, with Lali BeGood and live illustrations by Àfrica Fanlo, a festive and intergenerational proposal that will put the final point to the festival.

In addition, throughout Saturday, the Illustrated Market can be visited, participate in face painting sessions with Marina Purpurina and learn about the training proposals from the JOSO and La Industrial schools.

All activities are free, but some require prior registration and can now be booked at the counter of the Urgell Civic Center or through its website.
