Almost three years ago, in November 2023, the Clot and Blues, a free blues music festival that, today, is a benchmark for lovers of the genre in the area, kicked off within the framework of the main festival of the Clot neighborhood of Barcelona. The event was born in the square in front of the Ateneu del Clot with the aim of having vermouth in company while enjoying blues concerts.
After three years, last week the fourth edition kicked off. “We have good news, this year we have added La Farinera del Clot, a neighborhood facility with a lot of history and warmth,” they announced days ago on Instagram from the organization. Thus, last Sunday, May 10, the placeta de l’Oca was packed to the brim to the rhythm of The Heeks, the blues trio led by Carla Sunday. The concert, moreover, was dedicated to the memory of Joan Josep Gómez, activist and blues photographer in Barcelona who died a few days ago.
This was the kick-off of Clot and Blues 2026, but the party doesn't end here. The following gatherings will be on Thursday, June 11, with Chino Swinglide and Tota Blues (Bar de La Farinera del Clot, 8 PM); on Sunday, June 14, it will be the turn of DJ Darren Clough (plaça del Mercat del Clot, 7 PM); on Sunday, September 27, a musical vermouth will be held by Leadbelly Songster (plaça de l’Oca, 12:30 PM); on November 8, the vermouth will be accompanied by Lust’n’found with Joan Pau Cumellas (plaça de l’Oca, 12:30 PM) and, finally, the festival will end on November 27 with the performance of El Blues d’elles by Queralt Albinyana Blues Tio (Teatre de La Farinera del Clot, 8 PM).
