Terrats en Cultura has presented the program for its 14th edition, which will be held from June 12 to July 24 on various rooftops in Barcelona and l’Hospitalet de Llobregat. In total, thirteen shows of dance, theater, music, and comedy will be offered and, this year, names like Pablo Macho Otero, Enric Nolla, Oye Sherman or Thelee will participate.

Regarding the chosen rooftops, these will not be revealed until the day of the show itself. And it is that, the proposal, advocates for the recovery of unconventional spaces and plays with the feeling of uncertainty and mystery. For now, the only thing known is that the festival reclaims rooftops as “spaces for meeting, culture, and critical thinking”.

The program

The program will include a dozen shows from four different artistic disciplines: 5 concerts, 6 theater shows, 1 dance piece, and 1 Stand Up proposal. In parallel, 4 post-show colloquiums and a wine tasting will also be held. Specifically, the following performances can be seen:

CONCERTS

July 12, Theele: The duo formed by Jordi Coromines and Oleguer Montané will present their new EP BBBB in an inaugural concert that will be completed with a small opening party to celebrate the start of the season.

July 15, Daniel Lumbreras: The Catalan singer-songwriter will pass through the rooftops with an experimental project focused on the use of the voice as an instrument and phonetic improvisation.

July 16, Carme Aciar: The Argentine singer and composer will bring a proposal that connects Barcelona and Buenos Aires.

July 17, Arcaran: The band from Nou Barris will perform the songs from their album ‘La búsqueda’.

PERFORMING ARTS

June 19, The Crack: Written and directed by Jorge-Yamam Serrano and performed by Cristina Gàmiz, it is a proposal that addresses, with small doses of humor, the persistence of trauma in a woman who suddenly remembers abuse experienced at school

July 3, Merriment: Performed by Alicia Reyero under the direction of the author Lali Álvarez, the work will transform the rooftop into a space of celebration where time, body, memory, and desire are the main elements.

July 9, On Fire: A satirical monologue inspired by his fascination with the figure of Herostratus, a character from the myths of Ancient Greece who, in the past, set fire to one of the seven wonders of the world, the Temple of Artemis.

July 23, The Fault is not the stake's if the jump jumps and gets impaled: Enric Nolla will bring an urgent piece about exile and identity, interpreted by the Venezuelan actress Dailyn Valdivieso.

July 10, The curtain opens: Oye Sherman will present with Esther López a Stand Up proposal that revisits popular humor, accompanied by a wine tasting.

DANCE SHOWS

July 24, A step forward: Mar Garcia and Javi Soler will close the summer program with a proposal that starts from the broken bag of auditions, which will invite to reflect on what we understand by failure and will vindicate its creative potential.
