In Sant Boi we will celebrate Gaudí Year 2026 with a transversal and community program.
We dedicate 2026 to the figure of Antoni Gaudí with a broad cultural, educational and participatory program jointly promoted by the Sant Boi City Council and the Sant Joan de Déu Health Park.
Gaudí Year aims to bring the architect's creative universe closer to all citizens and to highlight the local modernist heritage and the traces he might have left in the city.
The project is born with a triple objective:
- to disseminate the figure and thought of Gaudí from a contemporary perspective
- to make known unique spaces such as the "Invisible Garden" of the Health Park, an architectural complex that the latest research links to the Gaudinian creative environment
- and to reclaim the modernism that took root in Sant Boi at the beginning of the 20th century, such as the Marianao Park, the Torre de la Miranda (works by Ramon Fontseré, a disciple of Gaudí) as well as summer modernism and industrial modernism
Throughout the year, the program will involve schools, young people, the elderly and municipal facilities, with educational workshops, exhibitions, participatory projects with local artists, family activities and four modernist itineraries.
The program will also include the conference "Gaudí and the future: living architecture and sustainability", dedicated to the current challenges of urban planning and bioconstruction, and the series of conferences "Visible and invisible architectures. Landscape, power and legacy of Gaudí", with the collaboration of UNED Sant Boi, which proposes a transversal look at architecture, landscape and symbolic imaginary, from the Palau de Marianao to the contemporary reinterpretation of trencadís.
With the slogan #anygaudisantboi, the initiative aims to turn Sant Boi into a space for experimentation, creativity and collective reflection, connecting art, nature, spirituality and mental health.
Gaudí Year 2026 thus aspires to make the city vibrate by rediscovering its heritage from an open, inclusive and participatory perspective.
