During the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), the invasion of the enemy army in Catalunya meant the reorganization of the most vulnerable population in resistant zones and this led, among other initiatives and exile routes, to the creation of children's colonies. Under the name of shelters, school farms, foster homes and colonies, hundreds of expropriated buildings were put at the service of children so that they could continue their education away, as much as possible, from the horrors of war. Ninety years later, coinciding with the commemoration of the start of the war, its protagonists recover the history of the colonies that hosted them.
