The Can Sisteré Contemporary Art Center hosts the WooSkateArt exhibition until next June 21. Women paint skates, an artistic proposal that highlights female creativity within the urban art scene.
The exhibition, located in Room 2 of the Santa Coloma art center, brings together a collection of skates painted by female graffiti artists and muralists and offers the public a journey through different ways of understanding and expressing this contemporary artistic language. The exhibition invites visitors to discover the diversity of perspectives that coexist within current urban art through a unique medium such as the skate.
More than twenty young creators
The exhibition has been curated by Glòria Ortiz Rosa (Ejant) and features the participation of twenty-six young creators. The works presented reflect a wide diversity of themes, techniques, and sensibilities, showing the richness and plurality of current urban art.
The participating artists are: Ama, Ana PC, Aoner, Bymireia, Cecilia, Devel, Ejant, Fine, Isaura Sonet, Killa, La, Lara Gombau, Litha, Magia Trece, Marta Antares, Modt Sphere, Nasha, Psy Consciou, Rita Hervás Fernández, Rosa Roseyó, Ruth Soria, SaraTag, Secle, Slow and Sugar.
The exhibition is part of the WooStreetArt festival, a gathering of graffiti writers and muralists that has been held on the free walls of Santa Coloma de Gramenet since 2011.
The festival aims to make visible and publicize the work of these artists. At the same time, it becomes a space for inspiration for girls and young people in the city and encourages them to lose their fear, go out into the street and claim their place on the walls.

A workshop to paint your skate
Coinciding with this exhibition, Can Sisteré also organizes the family workshop Paint your skate, an activity designed to bring urban art closer to people of all ages. The workshop will take place in the gardens of Can Sisteré on Saturday, June 13 at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 14 at 11:30 a.m., and will be led by the artist Secle.
To participate, attendees can bring their own skate, which must be without wheels and have a smooth surface to be decorated. Those who do not have one can also take part in the activity by painting, with the stencil technique, a cardboard in the shape of a skate that will be provided in the same space.
Places are limited and prior registration is required by sending an email to cccansistere@gramenet.cat
