After having canceled the September edition due to rain, the team of young people from Sant Just Desvern who organize La Vall Festival will fill the Molí Fariner with music this Saturday, June 20. They will do so with a lineup that includes electronic music, alternative pop, and new club cultures. The festival was born in 2019 as an initiative to promote culture in the valley of Sant Just.
The sixth edition of La Vall Festival combines the warmth of a summer party and the curatorial vision of a festival with its own name, where the Molí Fariner transforms into a musical space. In this 13th-century metropolitan setting, names like CLARAGUILAR, b1n0, Renaldo & Clara, Habla de Mí en Presente, or NÒVIES have performed in recent editions. “La Vall has spent years avoiding chasing trends and refining an intuition that, now it’s clear, wasn’t intuition: it was criteria,” say the organizers.
This year’s showcase reinforces this line with proposals such as BALMA, La 126, damoridemort, Galgo Lento, Mei Glez, Mia Flaw, and Qirebla. A lineup that combines electronic music, indie, alternative pop, and urban sounds without the need to categorize everything under a single label.
The program
If we review the program, we find BALMA, who arrives at La Vall with a proposal that combines electronic music and lyrics in Catalan, and which in a short time has taken them to stages such as Primavera Sound or Cruïlla. Also from electronic music, Qirebla will present a live show that moves between delicacy and energy. For their part, Damoridemort, the duo formed by Blanc Nua and Rikamichie, will share the stage with Galgo Lento, one of the most recognizable voices of the Catalan independent scene, who will present the songs from COPILOT, their latest work. La 126 will arrive after consolidating itself as one of the most promising emerging bands in the national circuit, while Mei Glez and Mia Flaw will take the Escenari El Cub with two proposals linked to new club cultures.
