The Freedonia Association has everything ready to participate one more year in the Festa Major del Raval, in Barcelona. It will do so by offering two free concerts in Plaça Folch i Torres. It will be on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, with the proposals of Pyramides and Anatomía Humana Desmontable as headliners.
The program will kick off on Friday with Pyramides, a band formed by Facundo Romeo (vocals and guitar), Alonso Romeo (bass and backing vocals), Martín Menta (guitar and keyboards), and Damián "Chino" Biscotti (drums). A group that, according to the organizers, "is going through a moment of artistic maturity that combines the energy of their live performances with a constantly evolving sound search."
After their return to Barcelona, the band resumes activity on the local scene with concerts like the one they will offer this Friday, where they will preview some of the material they are currently working on, still in the pre-production phase. Their proposal sounds between Europe and Latin America, with post-punk very present. They also take into account the staging and a musical identity that "fuses introspective atmospheres," say the association.
Saturday, a journey into science fiction
The next day, Saturday, it will be the turn of Anatomía Humana Desmontable. A group that defines its proposal as "alien pop" and "synth noise," with a soundtrack "that proposes a science fiction journey through layers of sound that become soundscapes." Their lyrics, constructed from "cut-up" techniques and sound collage, incorporate references to literature, mythology, and also fictional worlds.
In their staging, they also address very current issues, such as existential anguish, isolation in a hyperconnected world, the relationship between machines and humans, as well as topics related to microbiology and astrophysics.
With these two concerts, Freedonia once again brings live music to Plaça Folch i Torres within the framework of the Festa Major del Raval. Thus, for two consecutive nights, the exploration of new sound languages that they will offer in Raval to celebrate its festivities will be the protagonist.
