Its origins lie in migrations from Senegal and other West African countries, marked by the loss of livelihoods linked to fishing, forced displacement, and difficulties in accessing basic rights once they arrived in Europe.
In 2015, street vendors in Barcelona created the Popular Union of Street Vendors with the aim of defending their rights and improving their living conditions. From this experience, Top Manta was born, a social and economic initiative that combines the defense of migrants' rights with the creation of employment opportunities.
Over the years, the project has promoted different initiatives linked to training, sewing, screen printing, and the social economy, facilitating administrative regularization and labor insertion processes for hundreds of people.
The Anti-Racist Race is part of this trajectory of community work and social awareness, and aims to promote a more just, inclusive society committed to the fight against racism.
