The Colla de Castellers d’Esplugues is one of the most emblematic popular culture organizations in Baix Llobregat. Founded in 1994 and popularly known as the Cargolins, the group represents Esplugues throughout the country with an electric blue shirt that evokes the city's historic colors. Throughout its history, it has experienced sustained growth that has placed it among the most outstanding human tower groups in its region, achieving technically demanding constructions such as the 3 de 8, the 4 de 8, the 2 de 7, the 9 de 7, or the 3 de 7 aixecat per sota.
Their journey combines tradition, local identity, and organizational capacity. The entity has played a key role in the expansion of the casteller tradition in the territory, sponsoring groups like those from Sant Feliu and Sagrada Família, and maintaining constant activity both in rehearsals and in public performances. With its social headquarters at La Closca and rehearsal space at La Nau, the Cargolins have consolidated a solid internal structure that integrates the board and the technical commission, and which supports an open and transversal community project.
The group celebrates its major annual event every September, the Diada de Sant Mateu, where it has performed some of the most notable performances in its history. Its commitment to Esplugues and to the *casteller* tradition continues to be one of the driving forces that define its activity and its role within the Catalan cultural landscape.
