Arnau Vallvé debuts solo with Mentre el monstre, in a new step in his musical career. After years consolidated as one of the most versatile and recognized figures in the Catalan music scene, the former drummer of the group Manel begins a new artistic stage with the publication of this single.
Mentre el monstre is the first preview of what will be his debut solo album, scheduled for next year.
A career as a producer
In addition to his role in Manel, Vallvé is also recognized for his work as a music producer, working with prominent names in the current scene such as La Ludwig Band, Lildami, Triquell or Ven’nus, among others. An experience that is reflected in this first solo preview, a track that seeks to show sonic maturity but also the artist's desire to experiment and innovate.
Soundtrack composer
It should also be remembered that Vallvé has worked on numerous soundtracks for both cinema and theater, a facet that contributes to understanding his versatility and his interest in exploring new musical languages. With his first album, everything indicates that he will continue with this creative line, of which we already have a first taste, while waiting for the rest.
A more electronic sound but faithful to pop
Mentre el monstre has been co-produced with musician and producer Xicu. Unlike his time with Manel, Vallvé now opts for a more electronic sound palette, without abandoning the pop essence, and incorporating doses of irony and humor that give the song its own personality. The result is a track that plays with contrasts.
A music video shot in Barcelona
The release of the single comes accompanied by a music video shot in Barcelona, a fact that reinforces the visual universe of this new musical project. The piece was directed by Ignasi Gisbert and Rita Molina, and features the participation of CE Canyelles, a children's football team from this Barcelona neighborhood.
