The civic centers Casa Groga, Guinardó and Teixonera and the Espai Jove Boca Nord, with the support of the Horta-Guinardó District, have launched the first technical dance conference imPULS!. It is a program of the Barcelona City Council that seeks to boost emerging dance in the city. It will be this Tuesday, April 21, from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM, at the Espai Jove Boca Nord (carrer dels Agudells, 37-45).
This meeting is an essential event for those who want to present their dance projects in creation and connect them with cultural programming professionals in the Catalan capital. During the day, the presentation and showcases of the selected pieces will take place and, once finished, there will be a meeting space between the dance companies and the different professionals of the cultural sector. Admission is free, but prior registration is required, which can be done at this link.
This year imPULS! presents several emerging proposals, some of which are still in full process of creation.
Vulnerability and attraction
The company Humancia, for example, will present Fragile, a piece about human vulnerability from birth to adulthood. On the other hand, Paula Sánchez and Matilde Casini will show Attractio, a contemporary dance duet that investigates the dynamics of attraction and resistance between two bodies, with a physical language and close to the audience.
The human relations and the bond between nature and the human being
For its part, the company. of Sobretaula will bring Aurèlia et Phill, a dance-theatre proposal focused on everyday life and human relationships from a poetic and ironic gaze. Nature Madness will present Raíces del ser, a piece that combines electro and contemporary dance to reflect on the link between the human being and nature.
Dance to reconnect society
In addition, Beatriz Cubero will share Radik-o, a solo where she addresses emotional disconnection in an automated society. And, finally, the company La dama will close the tour with Sanguinària, a proposal that combines urban and contemporary languages from a gender and vindication perspective.
However, this first day of imPULS! offers to the world of dance a real opportunity to be able to give visibility to its projects through new choreographic gazes. You can consult the entire complete program in this link.
