Purple is associated with the suffragettes of the 19th and early 20th centuries and symbolizes dignity and the struggle for equality. Green represents the defense of sexual and reproductive rights, especially linked to the “Green Wave”. White evokes peace, equality, and justice. Red symbolizes empowerment, strength, and the blood shed in the struggle. Pink identifies the fight against breast cancer, and orange, promoted by the UN, represents a future free of violence against women and girls.
In this exhibition, the Minerva Women Creators Collective of Gràcia expresses, through these colors and through various artistic techniques, their concerns and desires within the feminist struggle.
