MCNB Jardí Botànic Històric

The Jardí Botànic Històric, a small treasure of Barcelona's gardening scene, is hidden within two hollows from old quarries in the Foixarda sector of Montjuïc, behind the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya. The fact that it is an enclosed space, in the shade of Montjuïc, causes cold air to accumulate at the bottom, making the temperatures in the depths up to four degrees lower than those at the top. This circumstance facilitates the development of Eurosiberian species, typical of colder climates.
