Mondays in July have a different air in Sant Feliu de Llobregat with the celebration of the sixth edition of the ContraBaix d’Estiu. Every Monday of this month, the courtyard of the Ateneu, in the capital of Baix Llobregat, becomes the stage for a proposal that will fill the nights with top-level concerts in a unique setting.
This event offers the opportunity to enjoy great figures of the jazz scene and contemporary music in a close and welcoming format, ideal for outdoor summer evenings. The musical proposals will be accompanied by drinks and food from the Ateneu Bar, with special attention to their "braves" (spicy potatoes) and "crestes" (empanadas).
Tickets maintain the usual popular prices for the cycle in Sant Feliu: €10 for Ateneu members, €15 in advance, and €18 at the box office, with free admission for children under 12. La Vella Dixieland amb Namina: per molts anys
Dilluns 6 de juliol, a les 20.30 h és el torn de la Vella Dixieland. Aquesta mítica formació catalana celebra els seus 45 anys de trajectòria amb una proposta especial al costat de la cantant, guitarrista i compositora Namina. El repertori combinarà composicions pròpies i reinterpretacions de clàssics amb una naturalitat desarmant, en una actuació concebuda especialment per celebrar aquest aniversari.
Mirla Riomar Quartet: la tradicó afrobrasilera
Dilluns 13 de juliol, a les 20.30 h, prendrà el relleu Mirla Riomar Quartet, que combina les tradicions afrobrasileres amb influències de jazz i soul. La cantant brasilera Mirla Riomar presentarà un projecte profundament arrelat a les tradicions afrobrasileres, amb influències del jazz i el soul. La seva música fusiona ritmes ancestrals i sensibilitat contemporània per crear una proposta vibrant, plena de força i identitat.

Monday, July 6, at 8:30 p.m. is the turn of La Vella Dixieland. This mythical Catalan group celebrates its 45-year career with a special proposal alongside singer, guitarist, and composer Namina. The repertoire will combine original compositions and reinterpretations of classics with disarming naturalness, in a performance specially conceived to celebrate this anniversary.
Mirla Riomar Quartet: the Afro-Brazilian tradition
Monday, July 13, at 8:30 p.m., Mirla Riomar Quartet will take over, combining Afro-Brazilian traditions with jazz and soul influences. Brazilian singer Mirla Riomar will present a project deeply rooted in Afro-Brazilian traditions, with influences from jazz and soul. Her music fuses ancestral rhythms and contemporary sensibility to create a vibrant proposal, full of strength and identity.
Drop Collective: fusion of jazz with Jamaican rhythms
Monday, July 20, at 8:30 p.m. ContraBaix Estiu will host ten musicians who fuse jazz with Jamaican rhythms in one of the most original proposals of the metropolitan scene. This group combines the language of jazz with Jamaican rhythms such as reggae and dub, building its own unmistakable sound. Its horn section, a solid rhythmic base, and songs that speak of love, freedom, and respect turn each concert into an energetic, versatile experience designed for both listening and dancing.
King Pug: the great English indie blues duo
Monday, July 27, at 8:30 p.m., the cycle will close with King Pug, an indie-blues duo born in England that stands out for the intensity and authenticity of its live performance. Their proposal combines powerful guitar riffs, forceful rhythms, and a marked influence of British blues.
ContraBaix: a consolidated initiative
With a consolidated trajectory of 25 editions and more than 700 programmed concerts, ContraBaix has become a reference initiative in the dissemination of live music in the metropolitan area of Barcelona. The cycle connects various municipalities of the metropolitan territory and maintains a program focused on jazz and other related styles, such as blues, fusion, and new expressions of contemporary music.
