Barcelona-born Ruth Brezo presents the first preview of her debut EP Llavors i un poema, which will be released on September 29. For now, however, we can already enjoy a taste of this first complete work, with Blau. According to the artist, this song is “a sincere dedication to that person who becomes a refuge, company, and chosen family.” After releasing the singles Soñarte (2021) and Com et dic (sense dir-te)“(2023), she presents her first EP.
From this starting point, the singer builds a whole universe of metaphors that emerge as her inspiration does. Brezo says she sings to a completely fraternal love, from resilience and the desire to see the other person happy, wherever they may be.
Accompanied by Adrián Miras on guitar
From the first notes of Adrián Miras’s guitar, who accompanies her on this adventure, the song unfolds an atmosphere that is both warm and welcoming, accompanying the singer’s performance. Her voice moves from contained tenderness to an emotion that increasingly gains intensity, until it becomes an expression “of courage and unconditional love.”
Blau is also a sample of the sonic essence with which she is preparing her EP Llavors i un poema, a work that will consist of five songs for guitar and voice that will explore gratitude for life, the contradictions of human bonds, the sparks of falling in love, and the strength of fraternal love.
One of the most unique details of the recording of Blau is that the voice and guitar were recorded simultaneously, sharing space and interpretive moment. A technically demanding decision, but one with which they wanted to give naturalness to the piece.

Who is Ruth Brezo?
Ruth Brezo is a singer-songwriter from Barcelona, trained at the Taller de Músics in Barcelona. There she received training in jazz and modern music, where she obtained the SGAE (2018) and Anna Riera (2021) scholarships. Her career combines singer-songwriter music with influences from folk, indie, soul, Brazilian popular music, and Mediterranean sounds. Her proposal stands out for the craftsmanship of her lyrics, vocal versatility, and an intimate interpretation that places emotion and words at the center of the musical experience.
Her artistic name unites two dimensions that the artist considers essential in her creative universe: Ruth, her personal experience and history; Brezo, the heather, a flower capable of growing in apparently sterile terrains and a symbol of a silent, but persistent rebirth.
A regular on the emerging Barcelona scene, she has developed her project between small-format venues, festivals, jams and community spaces, consolidating her own voice that vindicates vulnerability as a form of courage.
