A young and charismatic teacher wants to show his students how a totalitarian society can be formed. To do this, he starts an experiment in class with strict rules that students must follow. What begins as an educational game ends up becoming a dangerous dynamic, as students become increasingly involved until they lose control of the situation. This is the plot of La Tercera Onada, the show performed by L'Avenç's youth theater group, linked to L'Endoll Teatre, from June 26 to 28 at the Teatre Joan Brillas – L'Avenç Cultural Center, in Esplugues.

Regarding the story, La Tercera Onada was an experimental movement based on fascism, conceived and directed by history teacher Ron Jones with high school students from Cubberley High School in Palo Alto (California) during the first week of April 1967, as part of a course on Nazi Germany. Jones explained to his students how German citizens had allowed the Nazi party to exterminate entire populations with a scenario: he founded a movement called "The Third Wave," whose ideology exalted the merits of discipline and group thinking, and oriented it towards the destruction of democracy, considering it a bad regime due to the emphasis it places on the individual rather than on the community. The Third Wave experience inspired the TV movie La Tercera Onada (1981), the book La Tercera Onada (1981), and the film La Tercera Onada (2008).

This version by L'Endoll Teatre is directed by Nico Bassó and features performances by Nico Bassó, Laia Corbalán, Sara Pedraza, Ingrid Ponce, Stella Roa, Laia Luz, Aina Salmeron, and Marc Tolsa. The price for the general public is €10 and for members of L'Avenç €8. Buy tickets here.
