The Sant Adrià group La Tresca i la Verdesca premiered "Rau-rau" last Friday, January 23rd, their new family concert that explores the noises we make with our bodies. The show, created in collaboration with playwright and director Jordi Palet i Puig from Cia. Farrés Brothers, combines poetry and live music to create a sensory experience for all audiences.
With almost 28 years of bringing their music throughout Catalonia, La Tresca —formed by Claudi Llobet, Jordi López, and Toni López— has worked in recent months on this new production based on an original idea by Jordi Palet. The poems about bodily sounds became a collection of songs performed live, with the collaboration of a creative team that includes Rita Baliarda as assistant director, Xavier Erra for stage design, Nídia Tusal for costumes, Anna Boix for lighting, and Nacho López for sound design.
After several months of work in creation residencies and work-in-progress presentations at FIET by Sa Xerxa de Teatre de les Illes Balears, Teatre Margarida Xirgu in Badalona, and other venues, "Rau-rau" debuted at Espai Cultural Fàbrica Vella in Sallent and will now begin its tour of Catalan theaters. In a few weeks, the group will enter Pepino Pasqual's studio to record all the songs from the show, which will be released as an album with additional bonus tracks
