The Quadre Escènic del Teatre Centre Catòlic (QUETCC) is the soul and heart of the theatre section. Currently, about 60 members form part of the Stage Ensemble, not all of them active at all times, but who actively collaborate in one way or another with the theatre activities organized by the entity. The most notable, and the one that brings together the largest number of participants, is the performance of "els Pastorets," which takes place every year around Christmas. Just as in the Basketball section, in theatre too we have our introductory theatre school/workshop for the youngest ones, as well as the poetry and theatre sections.
Capsa de Somnis
It is the introductory theater school for the youngest, between 5 and 16 years old. We are especially proud as it grows in number of registered students each year and that in recent years it has exceeded 40 members, distributed by age, ranging from 5 to 16 years old. And as a future project in the last year, we have created the "Youth Group," as a preliminary step to their definitive incorporation into the Quadre Escènic
Verba
It is the section responsible for disseminating Poetry, but with theatre as its focus, making its performances authentic dramatized readings. Despite having a smaller number of participants, the Verba collective works on the dissemination of this literary genre, and its most notable achievement throughout the year is the organization of the Andreu Trias poetry competition, which has already surpassed twenty editions.
QUETCC
The Quadre escènic is made up of all those members of the association who actively participate in any of the projects carried out during the year, whether as actors, technicians, or collaborators. Throughout the year, different productions are launched, open to all members, and the main objective is to premiere between 2-3 plays each year.
Pastorets
The performance of "Els Pastorets," based on the text by Josep Mª Folch i Torres, is the event that brings together the most participants each year. It becomes the central focus of Christmas performances, around which other Christmas-themed shows also revolve, such as the performance of the children's show "cop de Bastó," or the puppet performance of Pastorets, and even at this time, the plays performed by the youngest members of the household have a Christmas theme.
This tradition, deeply rooted throughout Catalonia, has a history of over 60 years within our organization, and each year we revive it with the same enthusiasm, truly becoming a meeting point for many members who may not participate in other activities but never miss this event.
