The Museu Marítim de Barcelona is a space for the innovative, participatory, and community-focused interpretation and dissemination of Catalan maritime culture, through research, conservation, and safeguarding of heritage. It aims to be a benchmark institution for Mediterranean maritime culture, open and accessible to all of society, and cooperative with individuals and organizations. The Museu is committed to excellence in heritage management, knowledge creation, and education, with the mission of acting as a driver of social and territorial progress in its surroundings, from the perspective of Catalonia's and its people's relationship with the sea, which is what distinguishes the Museu Marítim de Barcelona from other maritime-themed museums.
