This Christmas, the Dreta de l’Eixample is celebrating a premiere with the first edition of the Inclusive Art Route through the shops of the Eixample. Twenty-five shops on Consell de Cent and Girona streets, associated with Coreixample, are exhibiting works of art in their shop windows until January 6th, created by students and users from special education, occupational, and mental health centers in the Eixample.
The 25 works presented have Christmas as their theme and the artistic technique is free. The route began on December 3rd, coinciding with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. One of the main objectives of the project is precisely to give visibility to art as a means of expression for people with disabilities.
A participatory route
All participants in the route can enter a raffle for two €50 shopping vouchers to spend at associated businesses. To do so, they will be given a route passport featuring a map of all the shops, and they must fill in the letters linked to ten of the twenty-five works found there. Once you have completed the passport, you must fill in your details and can deposit it, before January 10th, in any of the four route mailboxes, which will be located at:
- Seu del Districte de l’Eixample (Aragó, 311)
- Llobet Òptics (Consell de Cent, 352)
- Cotilleria Mercè (Girona, 76)
- Crearte Styling (Girona, 134)
The winners of the raffle will be announced on the opening day of the art exhibition, scheduled for January at Casa Elizalde, and will be notified by phone or email

A route that promotes local trade
The route also aims to promote local and neighborhood commerce during the Christmas campaign, and for this reason it has been organized with the support of the Coreixample association, which since 1994 has contributed to promoting commerce in the Dreta de l’Eixample. All in all, it is a project conceived by the Eixample District's Economic Promotion Office, with the support of the Barcelona City Council's Institute for People with Disabilities. It also has the collaboration of the Coreixample commercial association and the special education and occupational centers in the District. The centers that have participated are Escola Fàsia (with four group works), Centre Ocupacional Paideia (with one group work and three individual works), Centre Ocupacional Tallers Blancs (with four group works), Club Social CPB (with three individual works), Centre Ocupacional Sant Guillem (with four individual works), Centre Ocupacional Condal (with three individual works), and CAE Bernardette (with three group works).
