El Raval is already experiencing its Festa Major. From this Thursday until Sunday, July 12, the streets of the neighborhood are filled with activities, but also with gastronomic proposals that make food one of the great axes of the celebration.
One of the highlights of the program is, once again, the Raval Tapas Route. This year, almost twenty bars and restaurants are participating, offering a tapa and a drink for 5 euros. The initiative aims to invite both residents and visitors to explore the streets of the neighborhood and discover the gastronomic richness of El Raval.
As a novelty this edition, the route incorporates for the first time two establishments from the Boqueria Market: Kiosko Universal and Clemen's Boqueria. In addition, among the participants there are establishments with a long history, such as Bar Atlanta or El Toro, as well as more recent establishments such as Las Fernández or Fat Cat. The route also includes more innovative proposals, such as those from El Magraner Boig or Chula Vista, in addition to other establishments such as Bar Costa or La Ravala.
Paella and sausages
Gastronomy will also play a prominent role in other activities of the Festa Major. On Saturday, July 11, a popular botifarrada (sausage barbecue) will be held and, in the evening, a popular potluck dinner, accompanied by a sample of Middle Eastern culture and gastronomy at the Nun Cultural Cafè.
The closing will arrive on Sunday, July 12 with a large popular paella and music in Salvador Seguí square. A proposal that will put an end to the festival with an image of coexistence and brotherhood where gastronomy will once again be an element of encounter and celebration among the neighborhood.
