This past Monday, April 27, the Sant Adrià Library hosted the delivery of the 7th edition of the Adrimots Awards, the linguistic ingenuity contest that has consolidated itself as a pillar of Sant Jordi week in the municipality. The event, which featured the special participation of the writer Omnia L’Bakalli, served to highlight the talent of the young people from Sant Adrià and their skill with the Catalan language.

Seven years of promotion of Catalan with Òmnium Cultural

The Adrimots Awards were born in 2019 as a joint commitment of Òmnium Cultural Barcelonès Nord and the City Council to promote Catalan among secondary and baccalaureate students of Sant Adrià de Besòs. Since its first edition, the competition has evolved maintaining a playful spirit: far from being a conventional literary contest, the Adrimots invite to play with words, double meanings and the richness of vocabulary, using Catalan as a meeting language.

Inspiring talk and recognition to the centers

This year's edition has stood out for the intervention of Omnia L’Bakalli, who offered an inspiring talk before signing the copy of her book, 'A lighthouse three minutes from home', which is already part of the library's collection. The author from Badalona also signed the book of honor of the facility, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary.

Regarding the recognitions, the young talent of this edition has been represented by various points of the city. Among the centers that have obtained awards for their linguistic ingenuity stand out l’Institut Manuel Vázquez Montalbán, el Col·legi Santíssima Trinitat and l’Institut Escola La Mina, reinforcing the transversal and community character of the contest.

A luxury closure for the month of Sant Jordi

With the delivery of the Adrimots, Sant Adrià closes an intense April month where the word has been the protagonist. The success of this seventh edition demonstrates the good health of the playful-literary creation in the educational centers of the municipality and the commitment of local entities to keep alive the youngest cultural traditions of the city.
