The croissant will cease to be just a breakfast item to become an absolute protagonist at the Croiss&Fest, which is celebrated on May 1, 2 and 3 at the Poble Espanyol of Barcelona.

For three days, this emblematic space of the city will transform into the essential meeting point for croissant lovers, with sweet and savory proposals. A whole gastronomic experience that will go from breakfast to afternoon snack, passing through brunch or even lunch.

Different establishments in Barcelona will participate offering their versions of the croissant, with the aim that the public can explore a wide variety of options and combinations. According to the organization, they do it to break the idea that the croissant is only for breakfast: they want us to be able to consume it when, how and with whom we want, at any time of the day.

Two categories

One of the most outstanding moments of the festival will be the competition to choose the Best Croissant of Barcelona. Ten renowned bakeries participate, such as Bubó Barcelona, Cruixent Barcelona, Takashi Ohiai, El Secreto de Ciscu, La Cantonada, Brunells, Ai.Cha. and El Noi del Pa (gluten-free), among others.

The prize will be decided in two categories: on the one hand, an award granted by an expert jury formed by prominent figures from the sector; on the other hand, a prize decided by the public vote, which will have a key role in the final result.

Beyond the tasting, the Croiss&Fest also bets on gastronomic dissemination. The program includes workshops and activities with professional chefs designed for all audiences. Attendees will be able to learn to make cookie dough, participate in wine pairings, specialty coffee tastings or attend showcookings focused on culinary techniques like the omelette.

The places are limited and prior registration is required through the festival's website. The atmosphere will be completed with live music and DJ sessions, turning the venue into a festive space designed to enjoy as a couple, with friends or as a family.

The tickets have a price starting from 4.50 euros, and the festival is distributed in different spaces of the Poble Espanyol. All the information is available on the official website: croissand.com.
