The ground floor of the Molí hosts until August 2 the exhibition 'Camins 1907-2026', a proposal that highlights the long cycling tradition of Molins de Rei. The exhibition is part of the activities organized on the occasion of the Tour de France passing through the municipality on July 5, and invites visitors to discover some of the most relevant episodes and protagonists in the history of local cycling. All the exhibition material has been gathered in a single room.
The exhibition brings together a wide selection of posters, historical photographs, press clippings, jerseys, medals, and bicycles specially loaned for the occasion. Among the episodes remembered are the start of the first women's Volta Ciclista a Catalunya from Molins de Rei in 2024, as well as the passage of several stages of the Volta over the last decades. Through these elements, the exhibition highlights the role that the municipality has played in Catalan cycling.
The route also pays tribute to several athletes linked to Molins de Rei, such as Sandra Jordà, Marta Torà, and José Tena Ambros, through the exhibition of medals, jerseys, and other recognitions that review their sporting careers. Among the most notable pieces are the jersey that José Tena wore at the 1972 Munich Olympic Games, as well as the jersey with which Marta Torà was proclaimed Spanish gravel cycling champion. The exhibition can be visited from Wednesday to Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., on the ground floor of the Molí.
Recognition of the Club Ciclista Molins de Rei and commitment to sustainable mobility
The exhibition also dedicates a space to the Club Ciclista Molins de Rei, in recognition of its trajectory and the role it has played in promoting cycling in the municipality. Through a collection of images of different races and events held over the years, the exhibition reviews some of the initiatives that have contributed to fostering the practice of this sport among citizens.
In addition to the sporting aspect, the exhibition also focuses on the bicycle as a sustainable means of transport. For this reason, it incorporates a space dedicated to AMBici, the metropolitan shared bicycle service, with the aim of publicizing this mobility alternative and promoting the daily use of the bicycle beyond sporting practice.
