The La Deskomunal party hall in the Barcelona neighborhood of Sants is facing the final stretch of concerts and parties before closing its doors in August. These are some of the essentials you can't miss.
This Friday, July 24, between 7:30 PM and 11:15 PM, Cruz, the veteran Barcelona death metal band, will perform, returning to the stage after two years without playing live, and with a new lineup. They will be accompanied by the also Barcelona-based Pvrgatorii with their savage black metal and Atonement with their direct thrash metal. A night of metal guaranteed. Next, it will be the turn of Luv Messenger Sound, who returns to La Deskomunal with the fourth edition of From Ska to Dancehall, a night dedicated to Jamaican rhythms, traveling from ska and rocksteady to reggae and dancehall with a session full of energy, dance, and good vybz. Advance tickets cost 5 euros and at the door 7 euros.
To end the weekend well, on Saturday from 8 PM to 3 AM it will be the turn of the sixteenth edition of Sorrofest, the party for pop punk fans. “We have ruined the little hearing we have left to bring you the most deliciously pop punk bands on the planet. We continue with our obsession to create the perfect zumba session: the ultimate ballerina mosh pit,” say the organizers.
This year the invited bands are Les Aranyes, from Barcelona, who play horror punk, and Brackets, a band that has already played at the festival on more than one occasion. “Their songs about eternal adolescent summer are anthems that we dance to until our hips dislocate and beyond,” they point out. Also present will be The Budweisers, who are performing for the first time at the party. They will play their characteristic pils power pop, dressed as Marky Ramone.
