The Can Verdaguer Civic Center of Barcelona has announced the winners of the 26th edition of the Concurs de Còmic de Nou Barris. It was on June 13, in an event that served, on the one hand, to announce the awarded works and, on the other, to inaugurate the exhibition that allows enjoying the awarded works.
This year's edition saw the participation of 66 comics: 28 in category 1 (nine to fifteen years old) and 38 in category 2 (sixteen years old and above).
The verdict
In category 1, the first prize went to Martín Vaz with the work Darrera la Porta. The second went to Víctor Castillo for Un grupo de amigos en el día de escalada, while the third went to Guillem Bernal for Vivo por error. In addition, the Can Verdaguer Civic Center awarded a special mention in Catalan to Pau Cucurell for Amo els còmics (però fer-los no tant).
As for category 2, aimed at participants aged sixteen and over, the first prize went to Helena Macias with Rostros en Blanco. The second went to Francisco Javier Martínez for Run-run and the third to Moisés Casanovas for El Viatge. A special mention in LGTBI perspective was also awarded to Pablo José Cuesta for the work Tirita para el cora.

The awards ceremony was accompanied by the inauguration of the exhibition of the 26th Nou Barris Comic Contest, which can be visited until July 18 during the center's opening hours. An exhibition that already occupies Exhibition Space 1 and the Attic of the Can Verdaguer Civic Center and brings together the works participating in this new edition of the competition.
The organization has thanked the participation of all contestants, as well as the involvement of the jury and the collaborating entities that have made a new call for the contest possible.
