Sant Cugat will transform from June 10 to 14 into the stage of the 12th edition of StQBlack. The city's black music festival will explore a "round trip" of Afro-descendant music, focusing on the styles born from the miscegenation between the African music of enslaved people and European traditions. This historical process, which gave rise to genres such as jazz, Cuban son, salsa, reggae or samba, will also focus on the influence on local expressions such as Catalan rumba or habaneras.
The programming will kick off on Wednesday, June 10 at Cal Temerari with the documentary Negrers, la Catalunya esclavista and a round table organized by l'Associació de Joves Africanes de Catalunya.
Regarding the concerts, the day will bring together the artists in the spaces: 'Monestir Corner', 'Freedom Town' (Can Vernet park) and in the Monastery Gardens. The lineup will include Tina Masawi, Joao del Monte, New Sabrosura or Extraño Weys. In addition, to the own productions such as Latin Goes Ska, a show that connects Cuba and Jamaica.
