The Centre Cívic del Besòs i el Maresme, in the Sant Martí district of Barcelona, is once again organizing the La Regadora festival, dedicated to clown and street performing arts.
Until July 23, the Rambla de Prim will host four afternoons of free shows for all audiences, with proposals ranging from physical humor, to circus or theater, passing through various activities, where there will be neighborhood participation.
The festival, already consolidated within the summer program of this Barcelona neighborhood, transforms the street into a meeting and culture space. Access to all activities is free, although places are limited, and for this reason, they recommend booking tickets in advance.
Four days of non-stop fun
The program kicked off this Tuesday, July 14, with LUA, by the Alba Sarraute company. And it continues this Thursday, July 16, with El reencuentro, by La Arrabalera, a proposal that combines clown and physical theater. On Tuesday, July 21, UALA!!!, by El Flaco Circus, will arrive, and on Thursday, July 23, Versus, by the Passabarret company, will be in charge of closing a new edition of this summer festival. You can consult all the details of the shows and workshops in the hand program.
In addition, before each of the shows, the public can participate in a family workshop that will begin one hour before the performance. These activities will offer a first approach to the world of theater, dance and circus through play, creativity and participation. The initiative is designed for children and adults to share an artistic experience before enjoying the different proposals.
Culture in the neighborhood
La Regadora is part of the Cultura al Barri program, an initiative that promotes local cultural activities in Besòs i el Maresme throughout the year. The festival contributes to revitalizing public space during the summer months and facilitating access to quality performing arts proposals at no cost to attendees. You can consult the entire program of this cycle on this website.
The commitment to clown and street arts also responds to the desire to offer accessible shows, capable of reaching audiences of all ages and generating a direct relationship between artists and spectators. Without large scenographies or barriers, the performances transform the street into a shared space where humor, movement and imagination become the main protagonists.
