Ca n’Ametller hosts until July 5 an exhibition by Miquel Soro, a former professional cyclist turned artist, who transforms his experience on the bicycle into a pictorial narrative dedicated to the Tour de France. The exhibition, distributed in three rooms and consisting of about thirty large-format paintings, invites visitors to delve into the visual narrative of one of the most demanding cycling competitions in the world. Through his works, Soro constructs an artistic view of the race, with cyclists as the main protagonists.
The exhibition focuses especially on the protagonists of the Tour de France, the cyclists, represented at different moments of the competition and in full action. Throughout the exhibition, some specific moments of the race can also be seen, such as falls or tense situations within the peloton, which the artist captures as an essential part of the toughness and unpredictability of the event. Each work functions as a scene that captures the energy and movement of professional cycling.
The pieces are made with acrylic paint and collage techniques, a combination that allows the artist to play with textures and materials to give depth to the compositions. This superposition of elements reinforces the sense of dynamism that characterizes professional cycling. Recognized as 'the painter of cyclists', Soro transforms the Tour de France in this exhibition into a space where sport and art meet.
A tribute to the great names of cycling
Beyond the visual narrative of the competition, the exhibition above all focuses on representing emblematic figures who have marked the history of cycling. Through his compositions, Miquel Soro recovers moments from the race of some of the great references of this sport. Thus, cyclists such as Miguel Indurain, Luis Ocaña, Eddy Merckx or Alberto Contador, among others, can be seen depicted.
This exhibition is part of the set of activities programmed for the occasion of the Tour de France passing through Molins de Rei, scheduled for July 5. In fact, other activities such as talks or gastronomic tastings around the cycling event have already been carried out.
