The Move Your Fucking Brain Extreme Fest celebrates its 20th anniversary this year on July 11. Molins de Rei's most hardcore festival commemorates two decades of history with a lineup that will bring together some of the most prominent acts in the current extreme scene. To celebrate this 20th anniversary, the organization has announced the incorporation of a ninth band - since there are always eight - thus expanding a program that already had eight confirmed acts.
The latest addition is Lóstregos, one of the most unique acts in the contemporary Iberian underground. Formed in A Coruña in late 2014, the Galician trio has developed its own identity that combines black metal, Galician folklore, and ancestral traditions. Its name, which means 'lightning' in Galician, reflects the intensity of a musical proposal that fuses wild tremolos, blast beats, black metal screams, death metal growls, clean pagan-rooted vocals, and evocative acoustic passages.
Lóstregos' lyrics, written entirely in Galician, reclaim the culture and popular memory of Galicia, turning each piece into a sonic immersion in the legends of the territory. With this addition, the festival closes a lineup that will bring together a wide variety of styles such as death metal, black metal, goregrind, grindcore, slam, and technical death metal in a day that will gather twenty years of commitment to the underground and the most extreme expressions of music.
Free admission and nine bands for the 20th anniversary
The twentieth edition of the Move Your Fucking Brain Extreme Fest will feature performances by Vilethrone, Dystopian Omen, Guineapig, Unbounded Terror, Morfina, Serrabulho, Profanity, Party Cannon, and Lóstregos. The nine bands form a lineup that covers various aspects of extreme music, from death metal and black metal to grindcore, goregrind, slam, and technical death metal.
As usual, the festival will be held at the Death Field, the stage located on Collserola Avenue, with free admission for all attendees. The venue will have bar service and official merchandise sales points for the festival and the participating bands. The organization will announce in the coming days the official design of the commemorative 20th-anniversary poster, as well as the definitive performance schedules, which are still pending confirmation.
