The Poble-sec Festa Major will incorporate a new musical proposal this year: a meeting and participation space for the neighborhood's musicians. To do this, they have organized, in collaboration with the Centre Cultural Albareda and Bodega Saltó, the first open jam session of the festival. It will be next Monday, July 20, at 10 p.m., on the CultMusic stage, located on Blesa Street, in front of Bodega Saltó.
In this way, a space will be created where both participants from the rehearsal rooms and music workshops of the Centre Cultural Albareda can share the stage. It will also be open to people who play jazz, blues, or other modern music styles, regardless of their level or experience.
Thus, the organization invites all interested musicians to bring their instrument and join an evening marked by improvisation, musical exchange, and a good atmosphere. Beyond the concert, the proposal aims to foster connection between amateur and professional artists from the neighborhood.
The jam will be led by Aram Montagut, professor of the Blues Combo workshop at the Centre Cultural Albareda, who will guide the interpretations so that any participant can easily join in.
Although no prior registration is required, the Centre Cultural Albareda has made available to participants a repertoire of base songs through its website so that musicians can prepare before the event. It also offers the possibility of communicating participation in advance to facilitate the organization of the activity.
Beyond music
Poble-sec will celebrate its Festa Major for ten days this summer, from July 17 to 26. During these days, the streets and squares of the neighborhood will host all kinds of activities. Among the most notable are the correfoc and a series of concerts that you can consult here.
A program that is well reflected in this year's poster, created by illustrator Sara Jansen Avecilla. It represents various activities, people, and entities of the neighborhood, such as the Diables del Poble-sec, the cat Sirius, the Castellers del Poble-sec, the Societat Coral Els Moderns, and the Gegants.
