Esplugues hosts one of the standout events in contemporary ceramics until January 11: the exhibition featuring the 36 finalist pieces of the 22nd Biennal de Ceràmica Angelina Alós, at the Museu Can Tinturé, the first monographic museum of Catalan tiles, located just minutes from Barcelona. Among the works on display is the winning composition of the Biennial, JDZ-271024 / JDZ-31134 / Tol-14325, by Dutch artist Marga Knaven.

With almost four decades of history, the Biennial has established itself as one of the most important events in the country, promoting creators from all over and showcasing the evolution of techniques and trends in artistic ceramics. Since 1998, it has borne the name of Angelina Alós Tormo, one of the most influential ceramicists in Catalonia.

The current exhibition features pieces that explore both the major challenges of our time, such as the relationship between humanity and the planet, and the physical and expressive possibilities of matter. Visitors will find everything from reflections on the climate crisis to technical experiments with textures, glazes, and impossible balances, which highlight the vitality of contemporary ceramics.

An ideal proposal for art lovers and anyone who wants to discover a unique cultural facility in the Barcelona area.
