Sant Joan Despí has already launched the new performing arts season for 2026, with tickets available since December 9th for residents of the municipality and, as of today, for the general public. The cycle, promoted by the Sant Joan Despí City Council, brings together the city's stable performing arts and music programming and, once again, offers a diverse cultural proposal that combines theater, humor, concerts, and family shows throughout 2026.
The Teatre Mercè Rodoreda will be the main stage for a season featuring over twenty shows and prominent names from the cultural scene. Among the most relevant proposals is Gegant, starring Josep Maria Pou, a production recognized with three Olivier Awards 2025, including Best Show. Also featured will be Carles Sans with Per fi me’n vaig!, the company Atalaya Teatro with Divinas palabras, and the comedian El Sevilla with his monologue La vida es roncarol.
The programming maintains a clear commitment to family and children's theatre, with plays designed to introduce younger audiences to the performing arts through sensitive and emotional formats such as Lumiero, El Punt vermell, Frederick, or Sum. In addition, a family concert with singer Gisela is added, aimed at children and families.
Young people also have their own space within the season, with performances such as that of DePol, one of the emerging voices of the Catalan music scene, and tribute concerts dedicated to bands like Marea, Extremoduro, and El Canto del Loco.
Sala Bulevard will host new Comedy Nights with shows like Diva de barrio, by Isabel Rey, or Eureka, by Mikel Bermejo. In parallel, TeatresDespí will once again host the Festival Zero, an event focused on innovative proposals and new languages within the performing arts.
Tickets can now be purchased through the website teatresdespi.cat or at the box office of the Teatre Mercè Rodoreda. **Different season tickets are also offered** which allow for a reduction in ticket prices and make the program an attractive cultural option for both regular audiences and those who want to **give theatre and music as a gift this holiday season**.
