The Santa Magdalena restaurant in Barcelona, located in Gràcia, will celebrate this Wednesday, July 8, in the evening, a new edition of the Tomacada de Santa Magdalena, a gastronomic event that turns the tomato into the authentic protagonist for a day.

The proposal will begin with a dish with basil foam, followed by varied tomatoes with toasted garlic and herb oil, a tabbouleh with small tomatoes cooked with honey and thyme, and scrambled tomatoes and leeks with candied cherries and toast. The journey will continue with tomato and Menorcan sobrassada meatballs, cod snout with onion, tomato and peppers, tuna with southern air, rigatoni with olives, pickles and anchovies, and will end with a cheesecake with tomato jam, demonstrating the capacity of this ingredient to adapt to both savory dishes and desserts.

The celebration will also have a festive air. The restaurant encourages attendees on its social networks to dress in red to further fill the tomato night with color, with a gift for those who do so.

The Santa Magdalena restaurant, located at Magdalena E. Blanc street, 6, is committed to a cuisine of roots based on stews, casserole dishes and popular recipes, but also reserves a prominent space for fresh and seasonal produce.
